Book titled ‘The Socio-Political and Religious Conflict in Kangleipak’ released
IMPHAL | Oct 10 : A book titled ‘The Socio-Political and Religious Conflict in Kangleipak’ was released today at Manipur Press Club.
It is written by Moirangthem Nilamani, who is an advocate, script writer, stage actor, and also producer and director of Manipuri films and stage plays.
The book is a collection articles which had been published in local English dailies since 2002 till 2014 that deals with issues of the past and present socio-political and religious conflicts in the state of Manipur and some other matters concerned with films and theatre.
Speaking at the function as chief guest, editor of Imphal Free Press, Pradip Phanjoubam said that the state depend upon the British for its history because people do not have the habit of maintaining records.
He also said that history is a by-product of a state and quoting the words of Søren Kierkegaard he said that life can only be understood backwards but it should be lived forwards.
Writing history is a big challenge and journalism is the first draft writings of history, he added.
Speaking about his book, the writer Nilamani said that small issues can disintegrate the state and his book will be valuable in understanding between different communities.
