Show cause notice and warrant issue withdrawn, JAC to meet government tomorrow
IMPHAL | Aug 9 : The state government has sent a meeting notice to the representatives of joint administrative council of AMTUC and AMGEO briefing them to have a joint meeting tomorrow with the chief secretary at its office to discuss the 22 points charter of demands made by the council.
The members of the council is ready to negotiate their demands, organising such a meeting and taking the demands under consideration is appreciated, said secretary general of the council, Laitonjam Biken.
He made the statements during a press conference held today at Imphal. He said the show cause notice and the warrant issue served against the core members of the council have been remove with a written document yesterday and the representatives of the council have been asked for a meeting tomorrow at 3 pm in the office of chief secretary as a preliminary session before meeting with the chief minister.
He said that fifteen members of the council will attend the meeting along with state principal secretary (finance), state commissioner (Hr. and Tech Edn/WR) including president and secretary of the council.
Biken said the council has taken the decision to meet chief secretary as he issued an official notice to remove the ban against them.
In the meeting, the council will put the first resolution of the council taken on July 29 with a joint meeting of core committee, consultative committee, advisory board and executive council. The point number 1 of the resolution mentioned that the Fitment Factor of 3.68 should be replaced instead of 2.57 as mentioned in the issued order of state finance on July 28 of the order with arrears with effect from January 1, 2016 to All State Employees particularly MCS officers, MPS officers, Mf-S officers, non-cadre officers, teachers, workers, pensioners and family pensioners.
The members will also bring up the demand to revise the rate of minimum wages from time to time at central norms. To establish, Manipur state staff selection commission for recruitment of group C employees (grade III and IV) for the first preliminary session.
He said if the state organise staff selection commission while appointing grade III and IV employees, the trends of corruption would be completely removed and educated unemployed youths can get jobs easily with their knowledge.
The indefinite cease work strike has crossed 141 days and the council hopes that state would fulfil the demands. The council will put other points mentioned in the 22 points charter of demands to the state session after session. The indefinite cease work will continue till the demands are completely fulfilled, he added.
Biken said that tomorrow’s meeting with government is a first step to fulfil the demands of the council for the welfare of the state employees. He further appealed the state to implement the 7th central pay commission with the fitment factor of 3.68 with effect from January 1, 2016 with arrear.
