Sit-in demanding removal of VC AP Pandey
IMPHAL | Aug 9 : Dhanamanjuri College Community today staged a sit-in protest at the gate of the college demanding the removal of Manipur University (MU) vice-chancellor VC Pandey and restoring normalcy in the campus.
Speaking to media persons, convener of the Joint Students Forum, Arambam Vikash, said the incompetent vice-chancellor has created many problems to the academic career of the students.
He further said the mark sheet of 3rd semester and result of the 4th semester is not given yet while the result of the 6th semester is still pending.
He questioned as of how the vice-chancellor who is currently on leave can be a part of the UGC team who visited Nagaland and also condemned the actions of the state government in trying to suppress the movement of the students.
Noting that the deadline set by the government for declaring the result is almost over, Vikash warned that the student’s forum is prepared to take up different forms of agitation if the authority fails to materialise its promise.
In a similar protest, students of LMS Law College staged a sit-in protest at the college gate today demanding an independent committee based on the enquiry commission 1952, to probe the allegation against AP Pandey.
The student’s body of the college said that it is very unfortunate that students have to suffer for the failure of the centre and state government to take up concrete steps in solving MU impasse.
It also informed that the Law college students will give maximum support in the movement of MUTA, MUSU and MUSA.
