Style Infinity Unisex Salon inaugurated
IMPHAL | Jul 11 : Commerce and industry minister, Thongam Biswajit has announced that around 200 entrepreneurs will be selected tomorrow, after thorough discussion in a meeting with the state.
He stated this during the launch of ‘Style Infinity Unisex Salon’ at Robert Naorem Studio and Academy located at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai.
Speaking on the occasion, Biswajit said the government has already set up interviews to select entrepreneurs in order to reduce the problems of unemployment in the state. As the state cannot deliver each youth a government job, it has taken up such steps, he added.
He appealed the people that the present government is free of corruptionand people should join the interview as the candidates will be selected based on their credibility, potential and creativity. People should support the youths who have skills and innovative ideas, he said.
Adding his speech, Biswajit further said, “If we are able to create more entrepreneurs, we can solve the problems of unemployment.”
Manipur has highest quantity of looms in the world and the artisans need to explore their talent so that youths, who have interest in the field, could easy earn an income for their livelihood, Biswajit asserted.
To become successful in life, one has to create their own path and the society should co-operate with the talented youths instead of mocking and betraying their talents, he added.
Fashion designer and make-up artist, Robert Naorem said to promote the weavers of Manipur the academy is introducing a ‘Weavers of the Year Award’ in October this year. The mode of selection will be done by experts in the field, he said.
The winner of the award will be given cash prizes and a contract for a year under his salon to promote weaving and his own skills, he added.
Robert further said the salon will be a unisex salon with affordable price to meet the requirement of all the people of Manipur.
Former miss earth, Nicole Faria, Manipuri film artist, Bala Hijam also took part at the inaugural function as special invitees.
The salon was jointly inaugurated with Biswajit and Nicole.
