Panthoibi Nidhi obtains/gets NBFC licence
IMPHAL | Mar 12 : Panthoibi Nidhi Limited (PNL), a subsidiary of Panthoibi group of companies has become the first ‘public limited finance company’ of Manipur to obtain Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) licence.
It was informed by chairman and managing director of Panthoibi Housing Finance Company Limited (PHFCL), Th. Hemo Singh in a press conference held at its office premise, Uripok Tourangbam Leikai, Imphal today.
Hemo said the licence is issued by apex regulatory body of ministry of corporate affairs that operates under the direction of Reserve Bank of India. This licence can be applied only when the company have the liability of bringing welfare to the public, he added.
Hemo shared that realising the good record of the company the licence has been issued by the apex body.
Hemo explained that under PNL the company will provide gold loan, mortgage loan, loan against fixed deposit, recurring deposit and monthly income scheme.
Hemo said it is mandatory to become a membership of the company for those who would like to utilize the service provided by PNL. The company would not take the membership charge, he informed.
Hemo stated finance company play crucial role in improving the financial sector of the state. Certifying such company by recognised body is highly needed, he added.
Hemo mentioned that PNL is the second finance company after PHFCL of the Panthobi group of companies. Other companies under the group are Panthoibi Finance and Panthoibi Construction. The company is planning to open its branches in entire states of India, he added.
Hemo mentioned that PHFCL is the first housing finance company in the entire north east India that obtained licence issued by National Housing Bank in 2009.
He appealed the public to extend their strong collective effort to bring peace, tranquillity and prosperity in the state so that the state could take part in the strong pace of development.
