RIMS advertisement for appointment of new director flawed
This is to bring to the notice of the general public and the authorities concerned that the recent “Re-Advertisement for the Post of Director, RIMS, Imphal, vide order no. U-12025/23/2015- NE dated the 16 th August 2016 keeping the upper age limit for applying the post as 62 years is illogical because of the following reasons:
The precedent and tradition in the past has always been to qualify the eligibility RR of candidates for the post of Director, RIMS, with the words “Relaxable in case of RIMS Employee/Central Govt Employee” in specifying the upper age limit of candidates applying the post.
In June 2015 advertisement order no. U-12025/23/2015-NE dated June 2015 for the post of Director, RIMS, Imphal, and the eligibility of upper age limit for applying the post was mentioned as 50 years relaxable for Govt Servant /RIMS officers and specially qualified candidates.
Similar Institutes under the control of Ministry of Health such as JIPMER, Pondicherry and NEIGRIMS, Shillong etc, the upper age limit for applying the post for Director is 60 years, relaxable for Govt Servant or Retired Govt Servants etc.
As per the recent advertisement for the post of Director, RIMS, Imphal dated 16th August indicates that only the Junior Professors are allowed to apply for the post whereas, the Senior Professors are being deprived from applying the post.
It shows that the present advertisement is manipulated for the vested interest of the Junior Professors of below 62 years of age.
In view of the above matter, the honourable Union Health Minister, JP Nadaji, is requested to intervene immediately in the interest of the rights of the Senior Professors to apply for the post.
