Double Vaccination --- Only 30 per cent of the total eligible population of recipients! Nearly 70 million vulnerable adults ("Only") yet to receive even a single dose! However these "Elementary matters" should be ignored!
And amid the hullabaloo of creating "records", we should definitely forget more than 4,53,000 deaths directly due to the virus, tragedy of at least 20,00,000 family members of the victims left at their miserable mercies including innumerable orphans and those left penny-less due to the passing away of sole bread-earning members of the family!
We should also definitely sweep the premature deaths of hundreds who had met their end upon highways and railway tracks (thanks to instant lockdown without notice) out of heat strokes, hunger and accidents under the carpet of "brilliant success"!
Also forget the job loss of countless compelling many of them to commit suicide with innumerable children joining manual labour market by dropping out of school!
"Credit" for "Success"( i.e. Statistical jugglery ) of "impeccable fight" against Covid and "glorious victory" over the pandemic surely has takers; but "nobody" is responsible for more than 4,53,000 Covid deaths and related tragedies all around! Indeed this is called "accountability" towards the nation!
So it is hardly surprising that the buck would not stop at the door of anybody for the inhuman queue for procuring oxygen cylinders with several hapless dying due to massive shortage of it, burning of mass pyres in parking lots, mass burial of bodies on Ganga bank or discarding it in water ! What a horror in these "modern" times ! Never never should we invoke the zealous involvement in implementing NRC-CAA, "Trump show", engagement in toppling Madhya Pradesh government through backdoor, Mission-"Occupy Bengal", Kumbh Mela, mindless megalomaniac obsession with Central Vista Project when the sole emphasis should have been in preventing the intrusion of the pandemic or controlling it through creation of adequate medical infrastructure!
Far from apologising to the nation or resigning from high chairs and important portfolios for Covid-mismanagement ; all Indians (millions of them paying from their pockets for the Covid-shots) are not only being "gifted" with vaccination certificates featuring prominent photograph of an individual; what a "well-oiled orchestration" or artificial tactics of administering "record" vaccines running to crores just for a single day so as to coincide with the birthday of some!
What a cheap vulgar heartless insensitive times where none other than a national tragedy can also be so ruthlessly exploited! What a mockery of the sentiments of the vulnerable millions who have either passed away directly to Covid or are in dire straits financially and emotionally due to the repercussions of deaths, pandemic, lockdown and job loss! All norms of accountability towards the people and service to the nation pathetically yield place to shear antics publicity and megalomania!
However, no salute is enough for the health workers(right from doctors nurses lab technicians to drivers associated with the fraternity) for their impeccable fight against the virus - - - be it through diagnosis tests nursing driving or administering the vaccines.
