General (DR) VK Singh (Retd), Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways and Civil Aviation, visited Mon district of Nagaland and held a review meeting of national highway projects in Mon district with the district administration and head of offices of Mon district in Mon on May 1.
During the meeting, Singh urged the concerned authorities to ensure equal and quality development work. He said that for development and quality works in the district, local contractors are better as they have more knowledge about the district. He encouraged them to introduce entrepreneur workshops and train people who want to get into such businesses so that they can take all types of contracts.
The minister also visited the District Hospital Mon after the meeting. S Phangnon Konyak, Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha warmly welcomed the Union Minister of State, HoOs of Mon district, and expressed gratitude to the Union Minister for his visit to Mon. Temjennaro Longkumer, NCS ADC (HQ) gave a brief description of Mon district. The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma.
