The Nagaland government has announced night curfew in the state as the COVID-19 confirmed tally in the state reached 12,800 with 53 more positive test results recieved on Thursday, the state health department said.
Out of the new COVID-19 positive cases, Dimapur reported the highest single day cases of 41 while 10 cases are from Kohima and one each from Peren and Phek.
With this update, the state has recorded till date 12, 800 cases of COVID-19, while the number of active cases of the disease stands at 385.
In view of the recent rapid spike of COVID-19 cases in the state as in other parts of the country, the administration has announced imposition of night curfew in Dimapur from Friday, April 23.
The curfew will begin everyday from 8 pm to 5 am. This step is taken as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the state health department said.
“All shops, business establishments, restaurants etc are to be closed by 7 pm. Commercial activities and any assembly of four or more persons have also been prohibited,” an official order said.
However, emergency and essential services will be exempted from the purview of the curfew. it stated.
