Nagaland: 11 more Chennai returnees test positive for COVID-19

Of the new cases, Dimapur reported eight cases while the other three cases were reported from Kohima.

Nagaland on Saturday reported 11 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 36, official sources said.

Of the new cases, Dimapur reported eight cases while the other three cases were reported from Kohima.

"9 Male & 2 female, all returnees from Chennai tested COVID19 +ve. 8 at Dimapur & 3 at Kohima," state Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said in a tweet.

All COVID-19 confirmed cases reported in the state are Chennai returnees.

Nagaland reported its first COVID-19 cases on May 25 after three persons who returned from Chennai, Tamil Nadu by a Shramik Special Train tested positive for the virus.

On April 12, a 33-year-old businessman from Dimapur, tested positive for COVID-19 but he was added to Assam’s tally as he was tested and treated at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Assam.
