Mhathung Yanthan was on Friday sworn in as the protem speaker of the14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly at the office chamber of the Governor in Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
The oath of office to Yanthan was administered by Governor La Ganesan in the presence of chief secretary J Alam, DGP Nagaland Rupin Sharma, Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha and other officials.
"Took oath of office as the Protem Speaker for the 14th NLA before the Hon'ble Governor of Nagaland today. I'm grateful to HCM for the honor!" Yanthan tweeted.
On March 7, Yanthan was appointed as the protem speaker to discharge the duties of the speaker of the 14th Legislative Assembly until a new Speaker is elected.
