Gambling banned in Kohima

The deputy commissioner of Kohima district, Nagaland has issued an order, banning all forms of gambling activities in the capital areas.

All gambling activities have been banned in Nagaland state capital Kohima by the administration with immediate effect.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima district has issued an order stating: “Some persons/groups of persons have been organising gambling activities, including dice games (Chandi Monda etc.) in and around Kohima”.

Stating that such activities are not only illegal but also create public nuisance and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the town, deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C, has issued an order, banning all gambling activities, including dice games with immediate effect.

The order has been issued to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in and around Kohima and strict action will be initiated against defaulter(s) as per relevant sections of the law, it added.
