'Community contribution more than the schemes given by Central government'

Kapil Moreshwar Patil, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, visited Nagaland and inaugurated Thahekhu Village Council Hall cum Multipurpose building in Dimapur on Thursday.

Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj, Kapil Moreshwar Patil acknowledged that community contribution is more than the schemes given by the Central government. He said this during the inauguration of Thahekhu Village Council Hall cum Multipurpose building at Dimapur today during his two-day visit to Nagaland.

The minister observed that the Thahekhu Village Council Hall cum Multipurpose Building inaugurated by him was the biggest hall in all the six states he had visited. He further stated that he would speak on the greatness of Nagas and community contribution in all places he visits. The Union minister further asserted that it was the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make villages better than cities, fulfilling the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi.

While referring to the “Opposition-less government” in Nagaland under the umbrella of United Democratic Alliance (UDA), Patil lauded the legislators for coming together to work for the betterment and development of the state. He also acknowledged the slogan, “Peace for development and development for peace”.

Besides others, Nagaland Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir and legislatures Tovihoto and Azheto were also present during the inauguration programme.

Later, the Minister met and interacted with the village functionaries at Thahekhu Village after which he departed for Kohima.

Earlier, Patil who arrived Dimapur by Air India, called on the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio at his residence at Sovima.
