African Swine Flu hits Nagaland's Longleng district

Amid the African Swine Flu outbreak in Longleng district, Nagaland, the district administration of Mon has issued an order today banning the sale and slaughter of pigs and import of pigs from outside the district till further directives.

African Swine Flu outbreak has been reported in Longleng district of Nagaland and in the surrounding areas. Following it, the Nagaland government has taken up immediate measures.

According to the report, the district administration of Longleng has informed that an outbreak of African Swine Flu (ASF) has been reported at Tangha village and the confirmatory report on the same was received by the Chief Veterinary Officer of Longleng district on May 11.

In view of the report by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, government of Nagaland, regarding the outbreak of African Swine Flu disease in Longleng district and also in the neighbouring districts  of Assam, the Mon district administration of Nagaland has also banned sale and slaughter of pigs in the district till further notice.

The district administration of Mon issued an order today banning the sale and slaughter of pigs and import of pigs from outside the district till further directives.
