Wahyum Fest, formally called Wahyum Festival of Arts & Music, an annual music festival curated by Mayflos Events and Entertainment Pvt Ltd, will be held for three days from December 16 to 18, and will feature 21 bands, the organisers said.

The three-day Wahyum Fest 2022 will feature performances by 21 bands, including Parikrama, Girish & The Chronicles, Boomerang, and Imna Inla, company director Diana Gurumayum said.

“This year's Wahyum Fest will have performances by 21 bands with headlining acts like Parikrama, Girish & The Chronicles, Boomerang, and Imna Inla apart from Manipuri bands like The Koi and Imphal Talkies among others," Diana said.

Besides Live music, there will be an art exhibition, horse riding, camping activities, and a Live streaming of the FIFA World Cup Final match, which falls on the last day of the festival, she said.

The festival will also focus promoting Manipuri pony and other equestrian activities.

The first edition of the festival was held on December 18 and 19, 2021 at Wahyum Eco-Resort, Taorem, Imphal East

The festival incorporates arts alongside contemporary music and environment consciousness with an art exhibition in the midst of a stellar performance by the most popular bands or acts active in India and handpicked from Manipur's independent music scene, company director Diana Gurumayum said.

Diana said Wahyum Fest breaks the Imphal-centric line-ups that one finds in most music festivals in the state. A camping area gives residence to the attendees for three days who are willing to stay overnight.

Wahyum Fest was initiated with a humble idea to hold a modest concert that exudes environment consciousness amongst the goers. However, the scale of the event exceeded its original plans and turned into a full-fledged music festival, she added.

With a spontaneous security, water, and electricity-supply facilities, Wahyum fest was attended by around 3000 people in its first edition and increased the attention and interest amongst the tourists and festival attendees to the socio-economic condition of the people in Taorem village.

Wahyum Fest gives off an environment that discourages use of single-use plastic items and wastage of food and energy while successfully hosting a colourful flea market, efficient art installations and a well-lit food court, Diana said.
