The 10-member team of Rhythms of Manipur who were on a week-long tour to Vietnam in connection with the Festival of India, Namaste Vietnam at Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces arrived in Manipur on Friday after enthralling the Vietnamese audience with its fusion music performances.
During the festival hosted by Consul General of India Ho Chi Minh, Rhythms of Manipur performed fusion music numbers the national award winning composition Dancing Drummers and State Song Sanaleibak Manipur on the inaugural day of the festival at Rex Hotel Ho Chi Minh on August 25 and the next two days, stated a released.
The inaugural day event was attended by diplomats from different countries stationed at Ho Chi Minh City, high ranking official of Vietnam and Indian communities and enthralled at the fine performances of the Manipuri artistes.The Consul General of India Madan Mohan Sathy inaugurated the Festival with the light of ceremonial lamp, it said.
Besides the inaugural day performance the Rhythms of Manipur also performed at the sessions on Education, Business and Investment Seminar of the festival held at Rex Hotel on August 26, it mentioned.
In the Indian Education Fair/conclave representatives from different educational institutions of India namely Symbiosis,Guru Kashi University, Amity University and Vietnamese representatives attended and discussed the opportunities and collaborations with Vietnamese representatives, it added.
The Rhythms of Manipur troupe also performed at the India Vietnam cultural Night held in Tra Vinh University at Tra Vinh province on August 27 evening.The students of the University also performed two traditional Dance numbers, it said. At the event, the Rhythms of Manipur performed the National award winning music composition Dancing Drummers, state song and patriotic song of India, it added.
