The 1st Anāl Artiste Concert was held on November 23 at Town Hall, Panchai Village in Chandel district, Manipur with over 35 artistes from the community participating in it.
Organised by Anāl Artiste and Chakpi United Cup, the event saw Anāl artistes presenting their original composed songs. Lh Kantha, Js Rokan, Py Shangniwar were some of the renowned singers who participated in the event.
As part of the occasion, renowned singer Shangniwar Paya was felicitated with a memento in appreciation of her lifetime contribution towards Anal music. Over the last three decades or so, she has sung hundreds of songs that resonated across Chandel.
Shangniwar is also well-known across Manipur especially for singing ‘Kasuhlung he’ with Sorri Senjam for the Manipuri feature film ‘U Thambal’.
The event aimed to bring together the Anāl singers of the past and present on one stage and present the people with their songs in this festive season.
