Manipur’s Jeanpui Kamei gets sponsorship award for America’s Got Talent Audition

Singer Jeanpui Kamei won the mega online talent hunt contest in Northeast - ‘Bring It On! NorthEast India’ - a part of the ongoing Northeast Autumn Festival 2022 at Jorcheng in Ukhrul.

Manipur’s Jeanpui Kamei has bagged the sponsorship award for America’s Got Talent (AGT) Audition following her win in the mega online talent hunt contest in Northeast - ‘Bring It On! NorthEast India’.

Applauding the 19-year-old winner of the NE talent hunt contest and showing support, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said in a Facebook post: “We are proud of you Jeanpui Kamei. May god bless you always. We are with you”.

Bring It On! NorthEast India contest, jointly organised by the Echoes and Chiko Adventures to provide a platform to showcase talents from Northeast India to the world, is a part of the ongoing Northeast Autumn Festival 2022 at Jorcheng in Manipur’s Ukhrul district.

Promoting the best of talent, the organiser announced in a release to sponsor Jeanpui for the upcoming season of AGT auditions, with a sponsorship amount of Rs 1.5 lakh. It said: “The winner is also given a chance to claim the prize for any other national-level talent competition (i.e., in place of AGT audition) for which the sponsorship amount goes up to Rs. 1 lakh. The organizers will reimburse the prize money once the winner is eligible to audition for either AGT or national level competition”.

The 1st edition of Bring It On! NorthEast India 22 was open to all bonafide residents of the North East States (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura).

Jeanpui Kamei, hailing from Churachandpur district, is now set to perform at the Northeast Autumn Festival 2022 on October 25 at Jorcheng Grassland in Lunghar. The festival, which aims to promote eco-tourism in Manipur, opened on October 20 at Jorcheng which is located 21 km away from Ukhrul town.
