The Special Jury Award and Jury Mention Award for the 8th Nongin Kumhei (Manipuri Music Video Festival) 2022 of the Film Forum Manipur (FFM) were conferred to music video Mahousa Lairembi and child artist Ghini for the music video Punshi Sintha respectively.
The announcement was made by the FFM in its Lamphel office in Imphal East on Tuesday. The FFM also declared the list of 10 music videos nominated for the 15 award categories of the 8th Nongin Kumhei which is scheduled for May 22 at the MSFDS in Imphal East.
A seven-member jury team headed by renowned singer S Tijendra had nominated 10 Manipur music videos for the 15 awards of the festival after conducting a 3-day screening of 53 music videos.
The nominated music videos are Ima, Haidokpa Ngamdana, Khumjinkhraba Maithong, Wari Ama Libige, Thajagi Macha Morambee, Eigi Imado, Eigi Nakta Famlolao, Nabungna Cheisuni, Punshi Lambi and Lakkhini Nongmadi.
The winner for the 15 award categories will be announced on the day of the festival, said chairman of FFM S Mangoljao.
The team of the nominated music videos who failed to turn up except those who give prior notice will not be considered for the award, he said adding they will be considered as “not interested in the award.”
Stating that all the nominated music videos will be showcased on the big screen, the chairman invited everyone to come and participate in the Nongin Kumhei.
