The Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) on Sunday announced that documentary film project, Re-Inkarnation directed and produced by Manipuri filmmaker Bobo Khuraijam has won the ‘DocEdge New Zealand Award’ in the 6th edition of the Dhaka Doc Lab which concluded on September 11.
In the Dhaka Doc Lab (www.dhakadoclab.org) which was held from August 18 to September 10, Bobo Khuraijam’s Re-Inkarnation was selected among eight South Asian projects and three Asia Pacific projects, it mentioned.
Dhaka Doc Lab is a project market for Asian and Asia Pacific documentary filmmakers which takes place annually in Bangladesh, it added.
MSFDS stated that Re-Inkarnation shared the award with two other projects namely, In Search of the Morning Star and Untying The Knot which are a South Asian and an Asia Pacific project respectively.
The award qualifies filmmaker Bobo Khuraijam to pitch his documentary project Re-Inkarnation at the prestigious Doc Edge International film festival to be held in New Zealand the following year, it stated.
The award was announced online during the closing function of the Dhaka Doc Lab by DocEdge New Zealand representative Alex Lee, it added.
