Manipuri film 'I RISE' selected for international film festival

The 52-minute long documentary film 'I Rise' was directed and cinematographed by national award winning film maker Borun Thokchom.

Manipur documentary film on ace boxer Laishram Sarita Devi I RISE has been selected in the prestigious 16th International Short and Independent Film Festival, Dhaka 2022.

The 52-minute long documentary film was directed and cinematographed by national award winning film maker Borun Thokchom.

The 16th International Short and Independent Film Festival, Dhaka 2022 will be held from February 25 till March 4.

The festival was initiated in December 1988 as the first international festival of short films in this entire subcontinent.

Now, the festival has become an internationally recognised showcase for the latest short and independent films made around the globe.

Each day, there will be four screening sessions at the main venue, which make a total of 50 shows, apart from the opening and closing ceremonies. 

From the last edition of the festival, another important addition is the “NETPAC Jury Award” which is only for participating Asian countries in the festival in fiction and documentary category.
