2nd International Manipuri short fiction film festival on February 21
The second ‘International Manipuri Short Fiction Film Festival-2022’ will be based on the theme ‘Let’s make Manipur drug free’.

The Ipak Films Production Manipur (IFPM) on Friday announced that it will be organising a second ‘International Manipuri Short Fiction Film Festival-2022’ based on the theme ‘Let’s make Manipur drug free’ on February 21, 2022.
The duration of each entry will be three-five minutes and shot in Manipuri language. The film festival will be organised by IPFM under the aegis of Film Forum Manipur under the sponsorship by the Social Welfare department, government of Manipur.
IFPM, Festival convener Rakesh Naorem said during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club that welcoming the new year 2022, the film festival targets the youth with the aim to distance them from drugs and to build a better generation.
The first film festival was organised as ‘Khapri International Manipuri Short Fiction Film Festival-2021’ on the theme ‘Covid-19 Gee Cheitheng’, he said.
The winners for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd best short films as well as for the best director, best story, best cinematography, and best editor which will be distributed by IFPM on February 21, 2022, during the International Language Day-2022 observance, he said.
The registration for the participants will begin from December 25, whereas the filmmaker and company are requested to submit and register their films within January 15, he said.
He mentioned that the filmmaker or company should send their completed films by January 25. The forms for registrations will be available at Keishamthong Hodam Leirak Machin and Thouda Bhabok Leikai, opposite Sangai Express office at Tiddim Road, or from the IPAK office, he informed.
M/S Purnima Enterprises, Khongman Zone-II; Eteen Computerized Eye Testing and Eye Care Centre, Thoubal, and Heigang Micro Finance are co-sponsoring the festival. Rakesh said more sponsors are welcomed.
