ZUF to monitor poll-related activities

'We extend our goodwill wishes for a fair and peaceful election'.

The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has issued a warning to all intending candidates, party workers and general public to refrain from engaging in any form of provocation, hurtful criticism and poll-related violence among others in view of the upcoming state Assembly election 2022.

KD Gangmei, secretary of information and publicity, ZUF, stressed on the need to maintain public peace and harmony during the process of political campaign and election. The outfit will not tolerate any form of unfair means, divisive activities like adverse feelings against each other among brothers, clan and community while campaigning for the upcoming poll, he said.

“As responsible people’s front, the ZUF shall strictly observe and operate surveillance mission to see that all concerned maintain a peaceful and harmonious climate pre and during the forthcoming election,” the outfit stated.

In the event of any unwanted eventuality arising due non-compliance to this information, severe action even to the extent of corporal punishment shall be taken against the defaulters, it warned.

“We extend our goodwill wishes for a fair and peaceful election and appeal to all concerned to cooperate with the Govt. and election commission in the affairs of electioneering mission,” the outfit said.
