ZUF chairman extends greetings decadal Raising Day

Raitu Chawang appealed to all Zeliangrong people to continue lending their helping hands as ZUF marches forward relentlessly following the footsteps of pioneering legends Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu.

Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) chairman Raitu Chawang on Friday extended his greetings to all Zeliangrong people across Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland and all neighbouring communities in the Northeast on the decadal Raising Day of the front.

“I thank the Almighty God for his plentiful blessings and guidance that sustained us physically, mentally, and spiritually throughout these years (10 years) despite the ups and downs that come across in our journey,” said chairman of the ZUF in a statement.

Stating that the ZUF acknowledged and conceded the untiring and unending support being rendered by its beloved Zeliangrong people across the region, Chawang appealed to continue to lend thier helping hands as ZUF marches forward relentlessly following the footsteps of pioneering legends Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu.

Further appealing to all that, peace and tranquillity prevail among the kindred tribes and different ethnic and indigenous communities in the region, theZUF chairman urged every sensible citizen to desist and restraint from any form of violence which may result in loss of life, property, or vis-a-vis.

The ZUF as a member of the NNPGs-WC had and shall continue to render its unyielding support for the early honourable and acceptable Naga solution, Chawang wrote in the statement.

Extending respect and salutation to ZUF’s martyrs who have fallen on the line of duty, Cjawang stated, “The people of Zeliangrong shall remember them in the days to come and I pray that may the Almighty God grant them eternal rest in his heavenly abode. We shall overcome someday.”
