The Manipur government on Thursday declared zero-traffic zone along the stretch of road from Moirang Lamkhai to Moirang Bazar, starting from 7 am till Union Home Minister Amit Shah's departure on Friday.
The public are requested to avoid parking or traveling along the stretch of road during the said hours, stated an order issued by deputy commissioner, Bishnupur district Lourembam Bikram. Necessary actions shall be taken up against any violators in this regard, it stated.
The order was issued after receiving a report from the superintendent of police, Bishnupur submitted to the office of the district magistrate, Bishnupur vide the letter No. B-13/7/SP-BPR/2023/147 on Thursday for declaration of zero traffic along the mentioned road, it mentioned.
The order is issued in connection with the visit of Amit Shah on Friday, to prevent heavy traffic congestion during the visit, it added.
