As announced earlier, members of the newly formed ‘Youths of Manipur’ have begun gheraoing the residences of MLAs on Saturday.
After a meeting at Kiyamgei attended by thousands of youths from various corners of the valley, the members and volunteers gheraoed the private residence of Minister Th Bishwajit Singh at Bashikhong in the evening.
It may be recalled here that the ‘Youths of Manipur’ was formed on September 4 after a meeting at the public ground of the Social Welfare Club, Khongman Atom Leirak in Imphal East.
Besides a call for frontline CSOs to unite the gathering also resolved that the state Legislative Assembly should be convened immediately to politically tackle the ongoing issue.
The ministers and MLAs, whose mouths are shut, should immediately announce their stand of their responsibility, said a resolution, urging them to quit political parties and take concrete stance as people of the land.
The youths also gheraoed the residence of Keirao assembly constituency MLA L Rameshwar Singh in Kyamgei Shantipur.
