According to police allegation record, the viral Facebook Live streaming of the rally by Youths of Manipur and those who commented on the live streaming directly threatened, intimidated and warned the Manipur Police and government of Manipur to cause death or grievous hurt or to cause the destruction of government property by fire.
The Facebook Live streaming by the Youths of Manipur is also a direct provocation to the general public to riot against the government of Manipur and a malicious campaign to bring down the government by a violent mob.
The statements by Youths of Manipur also creates fear and alarm to the general public and induce any person to commit any offence against the public tranquillity and incites any class of community promoting enmity, hatred or ill-will between classes on the ground of religion caste or community, the police said.
During the live telecast the administrator of the Youths of Manipur stated derogatory and threatening remarks to provoke the general public to escalate the ongoing crisis in Manipur.
They were produced before the duty Magistrate, Imphal West on October 6 and remanded into police custody till October 10.
Before the court, the police submitted that an investigation revealed that the alleged accused persons have been conspiring with some unknown criminal syndicates to provoke the general public and innocent students by using their Facebook page to mislead the general public in order to unrest the entire hyper sensitive zone of Imphal.
The investigation of the case is in its initial stage and in good progress. However, the alleged accused persons are still concealing many facts leading to the commission of the crime and they are not co-operating with the investigating agency, the police said.
They are not ready to disclose their mobile lock password and as such, the alleged accused persons tried to provoke the general public and innocent students to protest against the state police and government of Manipur. So, police prayed for police custody for thorough interrogation.
The court, after hearing submission, remanded them into police custody.
