World Forest Day 2023: Manipur CM N Biren calls upon people to protect forest

Joining the world in observing the Inernational Day of Forests, 2023, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh called upon the people of the state to take a pledge to protect the forest areas in the state.

"On the International Day of Forest, let us take a pledge to protect the forest areas in the state. Manipur has a rich biodiversity and the indigenous population must shoulder responsibility to protect the greenery and work towards safeguarding the environment." Biren said in a Twitter post.

Every year on March 21, the International Day of Forests or World Forest Day is observed across the world to promote environmental awareness. The theme for this year's World Forest Day is observed under the theme "Forest and Health". The theme for 2022 was “Forests and sustainable production and consumption”.
