The ‘World Day against Human Trafficking’ observation was held under the theme ‘Combating Child Trafficking’ with a seminar organised by Churachandpur district administration at the conference hall of Mini Secretariat Tuibong on Thursday.
The seminar on ‘Combating Child Trafficking’ was organised by Churachandpur district administration in collaboration with District Child Protection Officer, Churachandpur at the conference hall of Mini Secretariat Tuibong.
The programme was attended by additional DC Khaikhopau, additional SP (IUCAW) Hasby Haokip, along with the departments concerned including Child Welfare Committee Churachandpur, Juvenile Justice Board and District Child Protection Unit.
The programme commenced with the opening remark by additional DC Khaikhopau, followed by additional SP Hasby Haokip’s talk on ‘Combating Child Trafficking’. Hasby Haokip spoke on the heinous crime of human trafficking, and highlighted the various steps to be cautious of such crimes.
“In the state, the victims of child trafficking often end up as child soldiers, factory workers, organ donors, and hotel assistants etc.,” she mentioned.
