A consultative workshop on human trafficking, women and child safety jointly organised by Noney District Administration, FXB India Suraksha, One Stop Centre and HEAL Manipur with support from ECPAT LUXEMBOURG was held at Noney DC office, conference hall on Monday.
Noney DC Joseph Pauline Kamson and additional SP Noney Peter Namsadai Pamei were present at the meeting.
As part of the programme, Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Noney chairperson Poukindin spoke on ‘Best practices, gaps and challenges on handling the cases related to CNCP’ while One Stop Centre (OSC), Noney Lamana Riemei spoke on the ‘Role of One Stop Centre, Best practices, gaps and challenges'.
She appealed to the general public to alert the officials regarding cases of human and child trafficking through human helpline 181 for taking legal action. She also gave an introduction about One stop centre and spoke about the reports collected after visiting different villages. Noney district police talked about the ‘Experience sharing on handling the cases of Women and child protection issues’.
Programme officer, FXB India Suraksha, Imphal Sunil Meitei talked about the ‘Experience sharing on human trafficking cases, gaps and challenges and needs of coordination to combat the issue’.
Police department, Neshaband, Rongmei Naga Luhphwam Phwam-Longmai Luangrean, various children's homes and other dignitaries took part in the programme.
