The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Manipur conducted a one-day workshop on ‘Entrepreneurship and Start-Up’ at its city campus at Mantripukhri, Imphal East district on Wednesday.
It was attended by former secretary, department of Science and Technology, Government of India Padma Bhushan T Ramasami as chief guest, stated a release.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramasami stressed on creating new markets by introducing products, services, and ideas to create new opportunities, it stated. Director, IIIT Manipur professor Krishnan Baskar during his presidential address spoke on the need to bring social change through entrepreneurship and start up, it mentioned.
General manager and OIC, NABARD, Imphal N Guite highlighted the subject of financial support and opportunities for start-ups, it further stated.
Consultant, Manipur Start-Up cell Th Jagat Singh, provided insights to the participants on the Start-Up Ecosystem of India, it mentioned.
It stated that Founder of Elveego Circuits Private Limited, Bengaluru N Uttam Kumar Singh expressed his confidence in the initiatives taken by Government of India in the semiconductor industry.
He said the future of this industry is exciting and promising, emphasising it would create ample job opportunities in the next 10 years for job seekers across the country. Later in the workshop, Central Agriculture University, Imphal Joykumar Singh also presented his views on the potential of business opportunities in ‘Agriculture the Virgin Land for Start-ups, it added.
