Three workers employed for the construction of National Highway 102B fell into the Tuivai River near the collapsed bailey bridge at Khuanggin village in Churachandpur. One of them was found dead early Tuesday, sources said.
The deceased has been identified as one Brojen of Luwangsangbam Mamang Leikai, the sources said.

The sources said that the three workers fell into the river after their raft made of bamboo capsized at around 7.30 am. The nearby village and Zomi Youth Association launched an immediate action and rescued two persons while one who had drowned was fished out after a frantic search.
The three were trying to cross the river to go home but were engulfed by the current, the sources added.
