A woman, whose husband has been allegedly missing since May 7, has expressed disappointment at the authorities concerned.
One Atom Kavita Devi, urged the authorities to dispense proper resource and conduct search operation of her husband, Atom Samarendra Singh, who reportedly went missing around Sangaithel Olympic Park area since May 7.
Atom Samarendra was a former sub-editor of The Sangai Express.
Speaking to the media on Thursday at the Manipur Press Club in Imphal, Kavita narrated that her husband had gone out with his friends on the May 7 morning and since then had been missing. She maintained that her husband was last reportedly spotted at the Olympic park.
"We enquired about his whereabouts and also tracked his phone; the phone locations showed that he was in the Sangaithel area," she added.
She said a missing report was filed at Patsoi Police station the following day and stated that army personnel conducted a search operation of the Sangaithel area.
No state forces were present in the search; the army reportedly did not allow state police to partake in the search, she added.
She, however, stated that she kept enquiring about the police about her husband as the army search operation was not successful.
“In the various enquiries to the police, they kept giving varying accounts of my husband’s phone location and could not provide any solid lead,” she said.
She urged authorities concerned to conduct a proper search operation of her husband and resolve the matter swiftly.
Suspecting that her husband had been held captive, she urged the captors to let her husband free and return home to his two sons safely.
