Woman drug dealer arrested

The woman drug dealer from Lilong Tharaorok village has been selling ‘Heroin no. 4’ as a vegetable vendor at the site of her arrest.

A woman drug dealer was arrested by a team of Lilong police station from Lilong Tharaorok village, IVR crossing near NH-102 on Tuesday.

According to police sources, the arrested woman has been identified as Makakmayum Rina, 29, daughter of Md Makakmayum Abdul Kalam of Lilong Tharaorok Chingon. She has been selling ‘heroin no. 4’ as a vegetable vendor at the spot of her arrest, police sources said.

After receiving reliable information of selling illegal drugs, the police team led by inspector Md Rias including women police immediately rushed to the spot of the vegetable stall. The women police conducted body searches of Rina and her belongings in presence of Thoubal SDPO as a gazetted police officer witness. During the search, 132 numbers of small plastic bottles containing suspected heroin no. 4 and one hand bag with Rs 2,530 were seized. The total weight of the seized drugs including the container is 148.1 gram. A case under has been registered for investigation, the source added.

Meanwhile, a team of Khongjom Police Station led by SI AK Joydutta Singh conducted a liquor drive in and around Tekcham area on Tuesday evening. During the drive, one individual namely Soibam Ito Singh, 50, son of (Late) S Leirenkhomba Singh of Tekcham  Mayai Leikai was apprehended along with 5 litres of DIC liquor, said the police source.
