Amid reports of continuous illegal drug trafficking in the state, a combined team of Kakching district commando and Pallel police on Tuesday seized 278 grams of suspected heroin No 4 powder from a person in front of Pallel police station at around 11.30 am.
The arrested person has been identified as Neipi Haokip, daughter of Ngamhojang Haokip of Khotlenphai village, Tengnoupal district presently staying in Molnoi village near Pallel, Kakching district.
The combined team, led by Subedar S Birla Singh, OC, CDO Unit, Kakching and assisted by HC N Muhendro Singh of Pallel Police Station along with lady CDO constables under the supervision of Binoy Chongtham, MPS Addl SP (Ops) Kakching and under the overall Supervision of Shrey Vats, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kakching, arrested Neipi who came on an e-rickshaw without a registration number from Molnoi side, during random frisking and checking.
The detained person, along with the said e-rickshaw vehicle, were searched. During the search, 18 soap cases containing suspected Heroin No 4 was found from a bag that belonged to Neipi.
The arrested person, along with the seized articles, have been handed over to OC, Kakching Police Station for further action.
