Woman arrested, brown sugar seized in Churachandpur

A woman drug smuggler was arrested with four soap cases containing brown sugar at a cemetery in Churachandpur.

One woman was arrested and four soap cases containing brown sugar were seized from her possession at New Lamka Cemetery in Churachanpur HQ on Thursday, sources said.

Police said the arrested was identified as one Lhinglalnga Singson, 47, wife of Shokhohen Singson of Tuibong in Churachandpur district.

The suspected substances contained in the soap cases were tested positive for drugs and found to weigh 51 grams without the weight of the containers, police said. The packets were seized in the presence of the witnesses under a seizure memo.

The woman was arrested and brought to the Police Station, said the police source. A regular case under FIR No 111(07)2023 CCP PS under section 21(A)/29 ND and PS Act has been registered against the accused persons for investigation.
