WMC 3rd Plenary Session concludes

As part of the occasion, WMC conferred life-time achievement awards to Moirangthem Nilamadhop from Cachar Lamagram and weightlifter N Kunjarani Devi.

The 3rd Plenary Session 2022 Delhi under the theme ‘Reawakening our spirit of oneness’ organised by World Meetei Council (WMC) concluded at Janpath Road, New Delhi on Sunday.

The event was attended by WMC Central Executive Committee president Heigrujam Nabashyam; vice president Y Dhan Singh; vice chairman K N Chand ; WMC Delhi unit president Nongmaithem Manichandra Singh; Manipur unit president U Kunjo Singh; Nagaland Unit general secretary S Sanjoy Khaba; Maharashtra Unit president Pritam Konsam; Assam unit general secretary I Hari Singh and Nimai Luwang; and professor of JNU Bimol Akoijam as the functional president, guest of honour and distinguished guests respectively.

The event commenced by the president, followed by the WMC members singing the song ‘Ho Ema’. Arts and Culture secretary of WMC Delhi unit Th Samita gave the welcome address, followed by Nongmaithem Manichandra Singh’s key-note address.

Speaking on the occasion, KN Chand extended appreciation to the WMC Delhi unit for organising the 3rd Plenary Session 2022 in Delhi which is the capital of the country. He urged the public to support WMC in the demand for ST for the Meitei community, and added that the organisation will not rest until their demand is met.
