The Chanura Lamchinglei Kangleipal (CLK) on Sunday urged the Central and state governments to withdraw SoO truce with Kuki Militants and asserted that the same will be a first step to restore peace in the violence-hit state.

CLK, in a release, expressed discontentment at the Central government for failing to restrain the Kuki militants and take swift necessary actions against them and asked if there is a hidden agenda behind such motive.

The recent communal clash has severely affected the deprived people, elderly and children and resulted in loss of many lives, it stated.

The association further urged the state leaders to set aside party differences and work in unity to safeguard the state’s integrity.

CLK also condemned the step taken by the 10 Kuki MLAs for "separate administration" and urged the State Government to be cautious of any external aggression by outsiders, which will add to the existing chaos in the state.
