“The lake is indeed a blessing to the people of Manipur and India as a whole, for its unique natural beauty. The more the tourists visit the lake, there will be more economic growth for the Loktak Lake community,” he added.

Sonowal said that Manipur once remained a “dark state” during the Congress regime in the Centre as well as in the state, but with the inception of the BJP-led government, Manipur has started witnessing development.

“It is the support of the people of Manipur and their blessing which enabled the BJP-led government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren bring tremendous development in its five-year regime,” he said.

With Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special focus on Northeast, people of Manipur will witness nothing other than development after the formation of an absolute BJP government in Manipur.
