Arambai Tenggol is a group of youths who emerged as a defense team when the armed Kuki-Zo militants started attacking Meitei villages on May 3.

“Who, other than we, would protect our motherland ? Only we can protect it like our forefathers did,” said a commander-in-chief of Arambai Tenggol.

“The blood of our forefathers, who fought for the motherland for more than five thousand years are coursing within our veins. We are reviving the sacred forefathers’ blood as Arambai Tenggol. Everyone who has come out for the motherland are all Arambai warriors,” the commander-in-chief of Arambai said.

“Of 14-15 lakh Meiteis, not even 1 lakh Meiteis are prepared to defend against possible attacks. This is shameful,” he lamented. During the gathering at Thangmeiband, tributes were paid to the 13 Arambai Tenggol warriors and 73 defenders who died fighting Kuki-Zo terrorist attacks.
