White Coat ceremony for new JNIMS students held

The White Coat and Oath Taking Ceremony for the newly admitted MBBS (Medical) and BDS (Dental) 2024 Batch of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal was held at JNIMS Auditorium on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Health and Family Welfare Minister Sapam Ranjan commended all the students for inching one step closer to their dreams.

He also exhorted the students from outside to expand the horizons of their knowledge not only academically but also in terms of soaking in the diverse culture, tradition and food.

“The students should wear their white coat with a sense of responsibility and know the weight of their duties,” he said.

He stated that the global landscape of medical science was expanding exponentially and that students should strive to keep up with propelling scene.

He further exhorted the students to respect both the teaching and non-teaching staff during their stay at the institute and wished them all the very best for their future.

“Everything can be resolved if there is room for talks and compromise,” he added.

JNIMS director L Usharani,  Medical superintendent L Lokeshwar,  principal of Dental College Nidarsh D Hedge and dean (Academics) Prof. Supriya Leifangbam among others were also present at the ceremony.
