Warm wishes pour in as Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram celebrate Statehood Day 2022

President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other Indian leaders on Sunday extended greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram as the two states in Northeast India celebrate their Statehood Day.

“Greetings to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram on statehood day. Endowed with natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, both the states exemplify unity in diversity. I wish both the states to make rapid strides in development while living in harmony with nature,” the president tweeted.

The prime minister also took to Twitter and wished the people of the Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram in a series of tweets:

 “Greetings to the people of Mizoram on their Statehood Day. India takes great pride in the vibrant Mizo culture and the contributions of Mizoram to national progress. I pray for the good health and well-being of the people of Mizoram.

“Best wishes to the people of Arunachal Pradesh on their Statehood Day. The people of the state are known for their stupendous talent and hardworking nature. May the state scale new heights of development in the times to come.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah also posted similar greetings on Twitter to the people of the two states and said Mizo people are “amazing people”.

“Extend my warm wishes to the people of Mizoram on their statehood day. Mizoram is known for its vibrant culture and amazing people, passionate about the nation’s growth. May the state continue scaling new heights of development,” Shah said.

Describing the two states “unique and fascinating”, the Indian National Congress party also extended greetings and wishes to the people on the Statehood Day.

Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju Today also extended his greetings to the people of both the states and wished brighter and prosperous future for the two states.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma beautifully described the two states in his greetings to the people of the two states, which he termed as “very warm-hearted people”.

“Mizoram is endowed with lush green hills and breathtaking views, besides a vibrant culture. Greetings to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @ZoramthangaCM and people of the beautiful State on Statehood Day.

“A land blessed by the rising Sun, snow-capped mountains and lush green valleys watered by sun-dappled rivers, Arunachal Pradesh is home to very warm-hearted people. Greetings to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @PemaKhanduBJP and people of the beautiful State on Statehood Day.

Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh was granted Statehood on February 20, 1987 as per Statehood Act of 1986 and Mizoram became the 23rd state of the Indian Union.
