War on Drugs 2.0: Police constable among two individuals arrested, brown sugar worth Rs 7.6 crore seized

As part of the War on Drugs 2.0, the Tengnoupal Police have arrested two individuals, including a Police Constable, along with 92 soap cases of Brown Sugar worth around Rs 7.6 crore in the international market.

Among the two arrested, one individual identified as D Letkholun Haokip was found to be a Police Constable who is currently posted at Churachandpur Police Reserve Line, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh in a tweet.

The chief minister warned that anybody involved in drug business will not be tolerated, while lamenting that a police personnel was found involving in drug trafficking.

"It is very unfortunate to find police personnel involving in drug trafficking. Anybody involving in drug business will not be tolerated. The Tengnoupal Police have arrested two individuals along with 92 soap cases of Brown Sugar which is valued around Rs 7.6 crore," CM Biren tweeted.

The chief minister said that an FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act, adding that efforts are on to nab the kingpins.

"Among the two, the person who identified himself as D. Letkholun Haokip was found to be a Police Constable currently posted at Churachandpur Police Reserve Line. An FIR has been registered under NDPS Act. Efforts are on to nab the kingpins," CM Biren said in another tweet.
