Womenfolk on Saturday held a protest at Citizen Club, Soibam Leikai, Imphal East condemning the blast that occurred on Thursday night in the residential area of Wangkhei Khunou in Imphal East.
An explosion reportedly occurred in front of the residence of Raj Medicity managing director H Rajen, at Wangkhei Khunou around 7 pm on May 2.
A two-wheeler was damaged due to the impact of the blast. However, no casualty was reported. Till date, no one has claimed responsibility for the blast.

Wangkhei Khunou Development Committee secretary H Ibenungshi Devi told reporters, "We strongly condemn such barbaric acts in the residential area".
The blast created panic and fear among the residents of the locality, especially among women and children, she said, questioning, "What would have happened if anyone was injured or killed in the blast?"

Calling upon responsible group(s) or individual to clarify the reason for the blast, she appealed to the concerned not to repeat such terrorising acts in the future.
The secretary also drew the attention of the law enforcing agencies of the state to speed up the investigation and nab the culprit(s) at the earliest in the interest of law and order.
It may be mentioned that an IED also exploded at the adjacent locality in Telepati, Imphal East injuring one on May 13 this year.
