Villagers joined Khoupum Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) in a Tree Plantation Drive at Upper Ngariya village, Bishnupur district on Sunday.

IGAR (South) stated that a total of 30 locals participated in the event.
The event was also attended by the chairman of the village, it stated.

The event was followed by a lecture on preservation of nature.
Total 50 saplings were planted during the event, it added.
