Unknown disease stalks Kwatha in Tengnoupal, villagers seek government intervention

Kwatha village authority, Ningthoujam Chaoba said at least two to three members of a family in the village have fallen victims to an unknown disease.

An unknown disease with symptoms of nose block, body ache and fever has been fast spreading in Kwatha Khunjao village under Tengnoupal district in Manipur for over a week. Villagers have drawn the attention of the authority concerned.

Kwatha village authority, Ningthoujam Chaoba said at least two to three members of a family in the village have fallen victims to the unknown disease. So far, 20 people have fallen ill, he added.

He further said that the helpless villagers are depending on common antibiotics and paracetamol tables. However, they are still not recovering, he added.

The villagers would be highly grateful if the authority concerned take up immediate measures before the situation worsens, said Chaoba.
