The United Naga Council (UNC) clarified that it has nothing to do with the deferment of the Manipur cabinet meeting at Kamjong which was reportedly proposed for December 16, 2020.

The UNC then said that there are some elements who attached the deferment of the proposed cabinet meeting with the ‘hill-valley’ relationship. The UNC termed it as ridiculous.

The UNC then accused Congress party leader K Ranjit of trying to gain political mileage from the issue of cabinet meeting postponement at Kamjong.

“Mr. K Ranjit should not make a mountain out of a mole-hill for his selfish interests including electoral benefits,” said the UNC, while asking the Congress leader not to drag in the name of UNC into a non-issue. The UNC also said that the "hill-valley relationship" has nothing to do with the cabinet meeting postponement but some people have unnecessarily raked up the issue.

The UNC then said that Naga people always support peaceful living, understanding and a healthy relationship among all communities of the state by respecting each other's identity, land, political rights and history.
