The water tanks were distributed to the villagers by the CRPF as a part of its Civic Action Programme in an effort to fulfill the long-standing need of the villagers. The district, one of the most neglected regions in Manipur, lacks a proper regular water supply system though the region receives good rainfall almost throughout the year.

During the programme, Assistant Commandant, 143 Bn CRPF, K Ravi Kumar stated that the unit will continue to serve the people of Manipur by carrying out such humanitarian activities under its Civic Action programme.
