UNACCO to provide free education for Maibam Kabui Khul students
Pointing out the historical significance Maibam Kabui Khul and its condition, Irabanta said the UNACCO Group would extend possible effort in taking up any initiative for the village.

UNACCO Group has decided to provide free education to students of Maibam Kabui Khul if they wish to take admission in UNACCO schools.
Addressing a tree plantation programme at Maibam Lotpaching (Red Hill), Bishnupur, organised by Saheed Madhumangal Foundation, Imphal, UNACCO CMD N Irabanta Singh said that Maibam Lotpaching is one of the historic places of Manipur.
The place is known in the state for being the site where the Battle of Imphal was fought between the Japanese Army and the British Army during World War II.
Pointing out that the historic place is still lagging behind, Irabanta said the UNACCO Group would extend possible effort in taking up any initiative for the village.
He announced to provide free education to students of this village if they wish to take admission in UNACCO schools.
Retired chief conservator of forest, Mahendra Pratap, who attended the function as guest of honour, called for conservation of forest. He said that due to excessive exploitation, people have started facing its impact in the form of climate change, unpredictable rainfall patterns and many other natural disasters, he said.
He appealed to the people of the state to preserve and promote the natural resources for the sake of future generations.
Other dignitaries who attended the function were khullakpa of Maibam Kabui Khul, PK Maipak and RSS, senior Pracharak, L Jatra Singh as president and guest of honour respectively.
