UKLF declares war against drugs in Moreh

The UKLF, through community leaders, urged the “drug dealers in Moreh town” to stop their activities within 24 hours, a release stated.

The United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF), government of Khulmigam on Saturday declared to launch a ‘War on Drugs’ in Moreh town, during a meeting with CSO leaders.

In a statement, UKLF stated that leaders of Hill Tribal Council, Meitei Council Moreh, Manipur Muslim Council Moreh, Tamil Sangam Moreh, Gorkha Samaj Samiti Moreh, Kuki Chief's Association Moreh Block and other CSO leaders joined the meeting convened by the UKLF.

During the meeting, UKLF leaders deliberated on the ill-effects of drugs on youths who are to be the pillars of society in the future, it stated.

The UKLF, through community leaders, urged the “drug dealers in Moreh town” to stop their activities within 24 hours, it mentioned.

The UKLF leaders said that the future of youths had been destroyed by some individuals who are trading in illegal drugs. “Many youngsters and grown-ups continue to fall into drug addiction. It's high time to take coordinated effort to curb the drug menace in the town,” it added.

It stated that seeing the grim future, the UKLF is compelled to take steps to curb the growing drug menace in Moreh town.

“Any individuals who indulge in illegal drugs business are informed to stop their activities within 24 hours of this notice and anyone who violates the said order will be dealt sternly,” said a UKLF leader.

It urged the community leaders to inform their respective communities about the meeting, and support the initiative taken up by the organisation.

While deliberating the ill-effects of drugs in the society, community leaders appreciated UKLF for taking such good steps for society and assured to support the initiative taken up by the organisation.
